Nikah invitation templates

What a nikah invitation should feel like

Keep the wording short and respectful. The names of the bride and groom, the parents' names if that's the family custom, and an invitation to share the day are enough. Everything else is detail and logistics — that goes below, in its own blocks.

What guests need to know

A nikah usually takes place at home, at the mosque or in a banquet hall, and guests need more than the address — they need the shape of the day: when everyone gathers, when the ceremony starts, whether there's a meal afterwards.

• the exact start of the ceremony and the time guests should arrive — these are two different things, usually half an hour to an hour apart;
• the address with a map and a landmark, plus parking — getting to a mosque on a Friday isn't always easy;
• whether men and women will be seated separately;
• a note on clothing — usually it's enough to ask for modest dress and remind women to bring a headscarf;
• whether the meal follows the ceremony straight away, or happens on another day and elsewhere;
• a request not to bring alcohol, if it's worth saying outright — one calm line in the invitation beats an awkward moment at the door.

Sending the invitation to older relatives

This is the big worry about dropping paper: “grandma won't figure it out.” In practice the invitation opens like any web page — straight from a link in WhatsApp, nothing to download or install, and no sign-up for the guest.

The link is short and easy to read out over the phone. And for anyone who wants the invitation in their hands, the page prints out in exactly the same design as the digital version.

Older relatives should still hear it from you — call and invite them yourself, then send the link with the details afterwards. A digital invitation replaces the card, not the conversation.

How many guests, and how to count them

A nikah is usually for close family, but the list grows anyway: relatives on both sides, neighbours, family friends. The RSVP form saves you from ringing everyone — guests answer on the page and you see the running total.
